Tom Weiskopf routed this layout through ponderosa forest and across dramatic elevation swings that showcase the San Francisco Peaks, turning what could have been another tree-lined grind into something approaching alpine theater. At 7,000 feet above sea level, the conditions play havoc with distance control, but the reward is golf in an environment that feels more like Colorado than the Sonoran Desert.
